MEK – K6

MEK – K6 T2 I1 – None of the above. Or something else…

You’re not convinced by any of these options. Or you have your own idea of how we as a society can address the climate crisis?

MEK – K6 T2 I2 – Reorienting the economy

In the business world, profits matter most. But we need an economy that safeguards natural resources for everyone, conscious of the fact that unlimited growth is not possible on a finite planet.

What would an economy look like which consumes less and at the same time enables a good life for everyone? And what does “a good life” mean?

MEK – K6 T2 I3 – Telling inspiring stories

Bad news gets more attention and is remembered for longer than good news. We can feel paralysed as a result. We need more stories that inspire us and show us how much we have to gain by taking action.

How can the media convey the seriousness of the climate crisis while at the same time telling true stories that offer hope and encourage us to act?

MEK – K6 T2 I4 – Recognizing our dependence on nature

In many places, nature is treated as if it had no value. Habitats are overexploited, degraded and destroyed. But we humans are part of the natural world. Our lives depend directly on the health of other living beings.

How can these connections be made more visible? How can humans be brought to see themselves more as part of nature?

MEK – K6 T2 I5 – Giving those affected a voice

Some people are particularly hard hit by the climate crisis – for example, because of their age, where they live, or other circumstances. Their voice should be heard and they should be given a say in policy-making on climate issues.

In addition, could animals and plants, or future generations, also be involved in decision-making? How could that be achieved?
