Partly obsolete and incomplete
The “Animals of Switzerland” exhibition is a museum within a museum. It does not pretend to provide up-to-the-minute data. For example, the carefully prepared and labelled “three-dimensional species identification aids” such as feathers, eggs, feet, beaks and droppings have been deliberately left untouched, even though some of the information is now out of date.
In addition, the name “Animals of Switzerland” is rather misleading: only a selection of mammals and birds are exhibited — by no means all animal species. Also, some species have now disappeared from our countryside, while a few have returned and several have newly arrived.
