Biology
These plains zebras live socially in small family groups consisting of one stallion and usually several mares with their foals. The individual herds sometimes join together into larger groups. Young males often form their own groups, known as bachelor herds. Different species frequently associate with each other since jointly, with their various skills, they are able to detect predators more effectively.
