Conservation status

Least concern. This species is often farmed for the production of crocodile leather.

Habitat

Rivers, ponds, lakes, swamps and mangrove forests

Biology

Nile crocodiles can grow to a length of 6 metres (rarely longer). Fatal attacks on humans by this species are reported every year.
